Yifan Gong, PhD in theatre and performance studies from the University of Edinburgh (the UK), visiting scholar at American University (the US), holds a BFA degree with distinction in Theatre and Visual Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley (Canada), and has learned filmmaking at Shanghai Vancouver Film School. Having received awards for his scholarly and artistic achievements in multiple countries such as Canada, Hong Kong, the UK and the US, Dr Gong has been invited to deliver theatre and performance studies lectures and workshops at universities including Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Tsinghua University, and Guangxi Arts University. Collaborating with various galleries and museums, he is also active as a versatile artist, actor, director and producer, beyond being an academic researcher with publications.
